Meet Eggstraordinary Team of Girls!

 

Many I hand raised - Marmalade my Speckled Sussex is the most gregarious. Goldilocks, Buttercup, Marigold and Sunshine are my Buff Orpingtons, always up for pets and pickups. Same for Violet, Lila and Blueberry, my friendly Lavender Orpingtons.   Laverne and Shirley are my Plymouth Barred Rock chickens with Shirley the first to come up and Laverne a little more circumspect. Betty (Bethesda) and Barbara represent the old original guard of 8, happily in their retirement but still thinking they rule the roost. Sunflower, Clementine and Penelope are my colorful mixes and Petunia and Poppy are the last of the hand raised. Pepper and Polly came last year from Ontario as pullets. Both are friendly but Polly especially comes around for pets and attention.

 

And last are the rescues, Wanda, Rhonda, Glenda and  Gloria, who have blended in wonderfully. We greatly miss Brenda, our only Brahma who sadly left us in June, perhaps from old age.

 

Free ranging and happy with 3 coops to choose from, these girls add so much personality along with their wonderful eggs.
